Help axle stand crumpled some undercarriage

Hello,

I put my 2003 Yaris on axle stands for the first time and was unsure where the reinforced points were. It looked like a point juts down behind each front wheel, so I tried there, but it crumpled.

Here are photos showing https://photos.app.goo.gl/agBnkJHAafBcBfon6
1) The non-crumpled passenger side which held an axle stand fine
2 and 3) The crumpled driver side where the undercarriage crumped a bit

I would like to ask if this needs urgently fixing, or if it's not too urgent.

Also is this something I can repair or fix myself, or would it require a professional?

Thankyou!

You definitely need to have it looked at that’s some pretty serious rust there. I can’t tell from the pictures if it’s safe to drive the car. I drove VW beetles in the 60s and 70s and some of them were really badly rusted, but I knew they would not fail.

These pictures I just don’t feel qualify to assess what the pros do it

Okay thanks, must have been all those years of wheel spray that weakened it to this point, thanks I will not try a DIY fix then.
