the most important thing is that the wiring is ALL BLACK. sure it makes it a pain in the ass to install, but can also deter/prevent a thief from stealing your car.

Make sure the control box is hidden well, and if its under the dash, put it up high.

Have a siren pointing down towards the ground under the dash (if thats where you put it) so it makes it difficult for the thief to go near the control box without hurting their hearing (but that can also help them find it, so put one under the seat)

last, wrap all the wires in electrical tape or some plastic tubing (or similar) to slow them down. it might also confuse them into thinking that it is stock wiring.

not if you have instructions.

usually (depending on what alarm you have) you need to wire the hood, tailgate, doors, door locks, the ignition, hazard lights, horn, shock/microwave motion sensor, etc. its not worth the hassle doing it yourself. if you get someone else to do it (pro) you'll probably get a warranty.

note for the black wiring: you can put little sticky tabs on the wires telling you what they are, just be sure, just make sure you take them off when your done ;)

somethings wrong with my compustar. The Unlock works but the Lock doesn't work. Is it some kind of wiring issue?
