More Cold air

Just wanted to see if you guys thought this would be a good idea. I don't know how familiar some you guys are with the 96-00 Civics(ex-honda guy). But i remember seeing a few Civics running around here in MD with 3 inch holes drilled right into there front bumpers. This hole sat a few inches from where the CAI filter was located. It was far enough to still draw in more cold air but still kept it safe from the elements. What do you guys think good idea or no. I was just thinking about it. I highlighted the area i was thinking about in the yaris. I currently have a AFE intake the hole would sit right under the filter. Just want to get some opinions

In my ABSOLUTE honest opinion, a stock engine isn't going to make great use of the colder air.

for me to cut a whole 3 inches wide in my front bumper itd have to be something that gave me at least 30hp. If it was a civic id do it, but its more than that, its a yaris. But yes in theory it would deliver more cold air, but you wouldnt notice a diffrence. so dont lol

Why not do the DIY fog light cover to air intake/brake vent conversion? Effective and you don't have to cut a whole in your bumper

I'm open to holes in the front bumper....a lot of miata guys do it....I'll probably do it at some point. Guys with 350Z's do it also. Granted the increase will most likely be unnoticable. But an increase is an increase. Especially in a car that just about puts 90hp to the ground.

wouldn't you rather have -1 HP than a big hole in your bumper?
