Oh great, I guess that means no more Mercury Mistress
I guess now I have no choice but to actually pretend to listen while on a date if I wanna get any. Blah ...

The only thing Mercury has done right in a long time is the 'Mercury Girl' spokesmodel.

Yes, Jill Wagner is indeed very hot! Witness her on the Jimmy Kimmel Show last year!

are you serious? pontiac consistently made the ugliest cars in the US market, and they had mediocre reliability just like any other american car company.

Oh yeah, Pontiac's made great cars in the past. They'd gotten awfully undistinguished in recent years for the most part. They did make the Aztek, which is the fugliest car I've ever seen.

As for Mercuries, I've still got one. The Villager minivan was a joint project between Ford and Nissan. Designed by a California firm. Built in a Ford plant in the U.S. (Ohio, I think) with a Nissan drivetrain, which was made in the Nissan plant in Smyrna, Tennessee. A slightly retrimmed version was marketed by Nissan as the Quest. Nissan dealers wanted about $2000 more for Quests than Mercury dealers did for Villagers similarly equipped. Many people would pay it to get that "Japanese quality."
