2010 Hatchback Headers
Hey guys,
I have installed an aFe air intake, installing the Tanabe Medalion cat-back when it arrives in a couple days and now looking for a pair of headers. Any recommendations out there? I'm from Canada and pretty close to the border so shipping to the states is an option. Thanks in advance! |

I opted for the DC sports ceramic coated headers.
They just looked much more appealing than the Megan racing one's to me, they're slightly more expensive but I think they're worth it. |

Honestly, it all depends on your budget!
The DC Sports ceramic i think is pretty much the "creme de la creme" of Yaris headers. It's the only header i've seen for the Yaris with an actual ceramic coating. (unless you do some custom work that is!) On the cheap side, the lowest priced header i've seen (aside from ebay) was from DNA Motoring header, here: http://www.redline360.com/dna-header...s-HDS-TYARIS06

or you can go super swag status, drop 900$USD and buy a TRD header lol

I'm pretty sold on the DC headers. Cheapest I've been able to find is $214.99USD which is around $285CAD.

Best header for the 1NZFE motor is the DC header. Best gains out of all headers on the market. The TRD you end up paying more for the name then anything else. It helps but really not worth the money. Only way a header gives you gains however is if your entire exhaust line is also upgraded. Intake end also helps.

Thanks everyone. I ended up making my purchase tonight from nutrend.com. I shipped it to New York and will just cross the border to pickup. No sense paying for shipping + outrageous duty fees. It came up to $285 CAD. Now, I have to look for a new gasket as I read its recommended to replace when changing the headers.

Good choice with the DC, I noticed it dropped the power band down so I would get more torque out of lower rpm's. The installation is just like a stock header and it looks nice (if you can see it).
Pair it up with a long runner intake manifold and your set (i've yet to do the intake manifold). Make sure you put anti seize on all the bolts when installing. I will save you a headache down the road. Side note: if you get smoking from your engine post install let it run for 10min and the smoking should stop. I believe the header is coated with a compound to keep It from rusting in the factory and it smokes off once heated up

Man, that would help tons and I would really appreciate it. I just moved to Hamilton, work in Toronto and have another place in Pickering so I pretty much cross through everywhere.

Dude, you're like 4 kms away from me. That is the exact distance between me and the Superstore. I'm constantly buzzing around that area. Never seen me?

I worked outside for the city as a summer student and I think I may have seen you driving through Streetsville. It was a white 5 dr liftback lowered w/ nice rims, I actually pointed it out to my buddy I work with (car guy) and was like "that looks good, that's what I'm looking to do" I'm on the other side of the Superstore (derry and 10th line). Lets meet up some time, I'd love to see what you've done to your car.
Like I said I'll be installing the TB after I go to the border in the early morning next Saturday, if your around feel free to stop by

Prob wasn't me. I haven't been lowered for the past 4 years and my sexy wheels haven't been on in 2 years. As my plate and screen name are the same, you'd know me if you saw me.
