2017 Yaris L questions

Hi all, just bought a 2017 Yaris L with a pretty high amount of miles on it for it's year (it was a rental, so no real surprise there).

It's got power windows/locks, but no mirrors which seems odd but so be it (although I have to admit sticking my arm out the window to adjust the mirrors is so 1970's ).

My questions are:
1. Can I upgrade to keyless entry? I thought the car had that till I took delivery on it and found out it didn't.
2. Is there an armrest option out there for it, I'm just used to having one.

Other than those two questions I have to admit I'm falling in love with this car, it really is the perfect city car. I've never had so much ease in finding a parking spot here in overcrowded NYC

I'm sorry that I can't answer your questions, but I'm a fellow 2017 Yaris L owner. I'm sure you'll love it!

Yes you can upgrade to keyless AFAIK

Toyota sold an armrest as an accessory. Its for 2012-2014 but unless the center console is vastly different in 2015-17 cars, it should fit with little to no mods.

Here is the part number anyways: PT413-52120

Thanks, I just gave it a road test yesterday, 400 miles round trip, it surprised me as being very comfortable doing it. Small cars have come a very long way since my old Metro!

Thanks, any clue how to do the keyless upgrade, lol. Sorry new to this. Thanks for the armrest number, found one and am ordering it

EDIT: Never mind, I found a video on youtube that sort of shows whats needed to do it. Outta my league....sigh....I guess I'll get used to just using the key.

Yep, you can get the OEM keyless by buying some new alarm keys from Amazon or ebay, a new keyless/tpms module, and a Techstream program to change the settings in your car.

You will have to go to the dealership or tire shop to re-program the TPMS to the new TPMS module. I left mine as is with the annoying light b/c I didn't want the dealership to charge me a >$100 to reprogram.

Yeah, I did the video and the swap first I guess lol. It's not that hard to install.

Oh yeah, the 12-14 armrest doesn't fit the 15 up console. Tried it.

As I said, too much work that I'd have to pay someone else to do....I'll stick with the simple key open/close for now as it does work flawlessly anyway. That may change in the future though, I'll see! Thanks!

I guess....but still, I'm all but useless when it comes to any type of electrical mods, I'm into bodywork and the like.
