It's so fun to see noobs starting autocross. Only because my first time was October 2008 so I'm barely out of my training wheels. But, I did get some wickedly sticky tires last weekend.

Holy crap Brazdon you and Whoopee are badazzes... only about 12 people (normally at least 40 cars) attended our first event of the season because it was cold and raining about that same amount... I was not one of them |

Nah, you can run R-compound tires as long as you don't have the rear sway bar. One of the few times I recommend springs instead of the sway, if you're going to add ultra-sticky tires for autocrossing.

I'm in ST class so we can do sways and stuff but once you get sticky compound tires i believe it puts you up a class
i could be wrong right now im just using BFgoodrich traction TA
