I've test driven the Smartcar and believe me even Toyota can't make something with THAT short a wheelbase (on the IQ) ride like anything but a bucking bronco. The Yaris will seem like a stretch limo compared to this puppy.

Nope, the iQ is not even in the same class as the Yaris. More along the lines of a Smart car competitor, but I need the ability to carry three other people and some cargo; and, as previously stated, nothing with such a short wheelbase is going to corner that well. The COG is too high!
Plus, I love my Yaris too much! Last edited by MadMax; 06-01-2009 at 11:26 AM. |

I'll probably won't be trading my Yaris for the IQ, but am glad to see it coming to the states.

well since it's US competitors will most likely be:
Fiat 500 Ford Ka Chevy Spark Smart Fortwo, I doubt it will be any cheaper of a car than the Yaris when it comes to initial cost. Also it's a city car and a Toyota so it's not going to handle so let's forget about that. Finally it's just not useful for me so I'd never even consider one.

I plan on keeping my car for 5+ years at a minimum. People lose so much money trading cars. Plus, even though I've got 30 years, I saving for retirement. I don't plan on working the rest of my life to support auto dealers. lol.
