1.5 1NZ-FTE
Hey guys. Looking for some advice for my car. Transmission is toast. But I’m at 220k miles and the car was free so I’m not even upset about it so it’s looking like I’m going to be swapping the trans. Would like to do a manual swap and was looking for a used one to rebuild when I found this engine and trans for sale. Seems like a great deal. What would it take to get this in my 2010? Special engine mounts? I’m guessing it would need the correct ecu as well anyone have any leads on one of those? Also do the UK cars have the same clutch pedal set up as the US cars? The only pedal assemblies I can find are from the UK.

the big question is..whats it out of cause its not from a yaris, then theres the need of the ecu for it and the yaris, as will as the correct piping and intercooler specific to the yaris....unsure of how much of the harness you can/cant use again not out of a yaris

How can you tell it’s not out of a yaris? Says it’s out of a JDM vitz. Which they made very few turbo cars but they did make them.

I should mention it’s listed wrong btw. The engine is a 1NZ-FE Turbo. It would have been out of a JDM Turbo vitz. Also called the T sport in Europe also called the Vios turbo in Thailand. I’ve plenty of pictures of this engine in a yaris chassis because it was made in limited runs in other countries. Just not here in the US. I was trying to see if anyone here had swapped one already as maybe they had some advice.

It would have come from a Gen1 Yaris/Vitz/Vios, aka Echo in North America. One difference not being considered is those cars were equipped with hydraulic power steering vs the electric system you have. Don't know if that would factor into a swap, or just a matter of bypassing the pump.

Copy that so that’s a pass then. I didn’t even think about that. Also the electric power steering is easy to mod. I’ve got one out of a Prius on my 64 galaxie. It’s run to a gm steering rack cheap/easy electric power steering. Thanks for the info everyone.
