towing is just fine...

i towed my sportbike on a ~200pound trailer so that is like 600 pounds with 3 ~150 pound people in the car 117 miles each way. the car drove on the highway just fine, in the city and on ramps, braking was reduced of course and acceleration was less but overall you barely could tell the trailer was there. the engine never struggled beside large hills but it does that without a trailer. i was very impressed by this car as a tow vehicle and will be building a new smaller trailer to tow my bike. also im going to get a small tranny cooler just so make sure i dont hurt anything.

first post here. I have a Yaris on order and would like to add a hitch to tow my Honda MiniTrail motorcycle clone.

Do you have any recommendations on hitch brands/sizes/intallation mounting proceedures??

thanks!

The Yaris is capable of towing, it is just not recommended. For your application it is perfect Twixt, but I could see some numb nuts out there trying to tow a 2000lbs boat/trailer and tear his trans up... But I think your 600 tow is about the max and if you are driving an auto I would flush it though with synthetic fluid to get the most out of your trans

Hey twixt, any pics of your hitch? I just ordered one for my Yaris, wondering what it looked like.
