How and where do you access the top bolt for the rear shocks? Thats where the bar will mount.. in a Liftback its very simple. Remove both screen looking covers on each side, look down, and there is the top mounting point for the shocks. Cuts down on trunk space keep in mind.

to get to the top bolt for the rear shocks, you just have to pull of the plastic/cloth covering on the sides of the boot. and behind that youll find them.

Ok, so that means then, its not as easy to install for the sedans.

Is it in a place where carpet would need to be cut/modified to get a bar on top of?

Search for rear strut bar here, and you will see what Im getting at... picture was posted on a Liftback, so by looking at that, maybe you can better judge how it would or would not fit on a sedan.

Could be the center point of each shock is further distance from the LB's, so their bar migght not even reach.

Just tossing around ideas....

ive just doubled checked.

my bad. i forgot that we were talking about a Yaris not a skyline.
With my old skyline, i just had to pull back the carpet and there they were.. but the yaris, it has a completely different suspension system. so theres no way that you could possibly do it. unless someone finds a way.

sorry to put any ones hopes up.

Try just above the wheel well arches... or look to see where the shocks are under the car, and follow that up to about where inside the car...

i know im a little slow here...but finnaly temps were above freezing, and not all of us have garage space :)

but it apears you would need to do some metal work to put the bar from t he hatch in the sedan...the same mounts are there, but there is some sort of support on the inside of it, looks like some sort of rear deck support.

i wouldnt imagin any loss of structeral stability with a small hole for the bar, but would definetly need more work than just cutting a hold in some carpet :)
