Need Spring Advice - Toyota Yaris Forums

I currently have MI springs, Tokico Blues, 23mm MI rear sway bar, and 13mm rear hub spacers.

For me, the ride is too stiff. The handling is great. I like the lowered look.
Although the car does not "bounce", you do feel all up and down movement of the front end. Potholes and rough roads are manageable. The car is very responsive. I am going to switch springs.

I am looking for input.

I have done the reseach, and I am still confused.
It looks like the DF210's sag over time.

What is your experience with the TRD or Megan Racing Springs?

Any other suggestions. I would prefer a progressive spring, if possible.

Also, anyone in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, I will make you a great deal on a set of MI springs.

well just from reading other threads about suspension...ur goin to loose some drop cuz tein, and mi springs r the lowest. i think overall ur shocks are goin to make the biggest change in ride comfort. garm told me the tokico blues r stiffer than the trd. im sure others will have more opinions and be able to give u more options and feedback.

ive driven on megan coilovers, eibach prokits, megan springs, trd springs, and im currently on eibach sportlines.

trd or sportlines are the best for drop and comfort, but trd's are cheaper

I could've sworn you told me the car was "bouncy". No matter, your description makes sense for a stiffer spring. Anyways, I haven't heard of the Tanabe springs sagging. Mine sure didn't, had them on over a year. The DF210's would be the same drop you have now but softer.

Progressive springs are H&R, also a good choice, but a milder drop than you have now.

I run prokits with tokico reds...unless you just want a look... to low can be a problem as you have found out. I have a slammed excort gt and it's useless except for a quick run to a close store.

Per our conversation, I did use the word "bouncy"
It does not "bounce" in a sense that it is out of control, or "just going up and down" because the strut can't control the spring.

I had a Nissan where the strut could not contol the spring. The tires "cupped" in about 2500 miles. This is not the same sensation.

The better term is "it follows the road" and the roads are not smooth.
The car sticks like glue. When traveling down the highway at night, you can see the headlights raise and lower as it shines on signs in the distance.

It seems to be more of a problem on concrete roads, rather than asphalt.

i have the mi springs and stock shocks they look great, makes the cars lines look way better and cleaner . i feel like the ride is nice and not to much of a jump from stock springs its not real stiff but still has as you said "bounce" to it but not necessarily "bouncy" but still stiffer than stock also have the 19mm rsb dont know how much of a difference the 23 is but i dont think it would be to much ... but that makes the biggest difference when turning

I think I've sold about 50 sets of those. I guess 49 of those customers have been pretty happy (and haven't reported sagging). Nor did I experience any with them on my own car, driving it hard and racing it.

I got 1.5" from TRD springs when they were on my car.

We also haven't discussed exactly how them measurement is made, some people may be doing it differently than others.

Like so many other things there may not be an exact correct answer for all installations.

I personally like to measure from the center of the wheel well before and after. Of course, you have to use the same wheels, etc. lol
