2007 yaris replacement keys

Hi, have looked through other threads without success.

Have a 07 yaris hatch. When I got the car it only had one key, the original. Since then I have purchased a couple off eBay to replace, had them cut and tried the sequence to program them with no luck. The original key eventually cracked and so the locksmith took the small transponder chip out and put it into the key from ebay, it works like new. However, I still only have one fully functioning key. For various reasons, I want another, other drivers and such.

I went to Toyota and bought what I believe to be a master key, part number 89785-60160. It was a key blank with the immobilizer chip in it, I think. Have had it cut so it fits all the locks in the car, but it wont program to start the car, it just cranks over and wont fire. I have a pdf manual that has a procedure EI-12 (engine immobilizer -12) as follows

1. START -

2. Insert a previously registered key into the
ignition key cylinder. Remove and insert it
again. Repeat this 4 times.

3. Open and close the driver door 6 times.

4. Remove the key.

5. Insert the master key to be registered into
the ignition key cylinder.

6. After 60 seconds, the key is registered.

7. Remove the key

Wondering if anyone can clarify? What is a master key? The manual also suggests that the immobilizer ecu should not have any key codes in it.

"Conditions:
• No key codes are registered in the transponder
key ECU."

Does this mean I have to erase all codes in the ecu?

As suggested some clarity would be useful.

Am in Australia.

Bugger me!!
Any luck with this mate?
I’ve just picked up a 06 YRX HB, no master key or log books
Has the red flashy light that suggests an immobiliser so now I’m trying to work out if i can get a key and try the other method of programming a key..

Not sure if you’ve tried the other method?
