Rust
There is some light surface rust on the top of my transmission (manual 5spd). I'm assuming it was caused by a corroded battery by the previous owner. I doused the area with coke to neutralize the acid. Is there anything else I should be worried about?

As long as it didn't get on any of the connectors you should be fine. Baking soda is far better than coke for neutralizing battery acid.
