The harness points look fine, the rollcage looks necessary though, I'd hate to be in there if a T bone collision were to ever happen :(

Does anyone else have anything to say about his harness mounting points?

I just want to know if that's safe!

Those holes are the mounting holes for the rear bench, pretty solid... I have my own driver side harness mounted there too. Not as good as an actual harness bar/roll cage mounting, but much better than hooking up to the seat rails area!

On topic: NICE pics, glad you like your camera and lens.

Off topic:
He looks to be within the safe range as shown below.

HOWEVER, because they are mounted so far back, those harnesses will stretch in an extreme collision and they will not protect you as well as they could.

Harness bar is STRONGLY recommended.

From Takata's website:

I have heard harness bars are bad because they do the opposite as bolting harnesses to the deck. Harness bars cause a harsh jerk that can snap your neck. All that aside if any accident is bad enough and it's your time, then it's your time. So pick your poison. I choose no harness bar to save weight.

If that were true, no one would attach harnesses to the roll cage behind them. If you're going to impact hard enough to snap your neck, then you should also be using a helmet and a Hans device.

I was speaking in terms of a bolt on harness bar. From what I remember the reason the bars are dangerous was because of low speed impacts. Welding a perfectly angled bar to a cage is a whole different game.

I was just stating some things I've heard about harness bars. I'm not trying to say your info is bad.

I don't think Sparco would dare to put their name on the line either for a product that could be proven harmful that goes against the products safety such as their harness bars :P Im sure they're done their homework outright
