random horn honking while driving. plz help

my 2007 yaris sedan just started to intermittently honk while driving. noticed it occurred more when the weather starts getting warmer and when i adjust the side mirrors and lower the front passenger window.

what could be causing this to happen and how do i fix it?

It could be broken insulators on the steering pad. There are plastic pieces which isolate the airbag frame from the steering wheel frame. If someone ever punched the steering wheel, the insulators can easily break and will eventually allow the horn to stay on.

If your spiral cable has not been replaced for the recall it could indeed be that. For the other issue the solution is unfortunately to replace the airbag, as you can't buy the plastic spacers to replace them separately.

i had a problem where my horn was not working due my steering wheel being slightly bent and therefor could not reach the contact points when pressed in. I would first take the steering wheel cover off to see if it solves your problem. Also check if it happens when the steering wheel is pressed or when it turns
