Trunk carpeted and rear seat belts removed (lots of pictures)
After having my rear seats out of my car for many months, I became annoyed with the eye sore that had become my trunk. When I removed the seats, I also removed the plastic trunk compartments and the spare tire. The other day I removed all three rear seatbelts, I couldn't believe how much they weighed! Yesterday I removed all of the plastic panels in the rear of the car, five in total, cleaned them, and cleaned the bare metal parts of the trunk and rear walls. Today, I measured, cut, and glued trunk lining carpet down where the bare metal was and made sure to apply carpet partly behind where all the paneling goes. Finally I put the panels back on and voila, it almost looks meant to be. Enjoy the pictures as I have an obsessive compulsive order and tend to take way too many whenever I mess with the car. The first several pictures are before shots. Also, the carpet appears to be "grey" in the pictures, it's darker but my camera flash picked up the new carpet more since these pics were taken in the dark.

Wow, looks a ton better! I've considered taking my rear seat out but every couple weeks or so I have to give someone a ride...

you know Andy, that's a good idea. since the seats will never go back in, and the belts are gone, this would be a decent buy. thanks

I love momentum.

I had my rear seats out the second day I had my Yaris :D
I went a different approach and covered the entire rear of the car with carpet. I'll post pics once I make "version 2" of the carpet. |
