Zage turbo kit
Anyone have an idea of how much power the zage turbo kit can produce? Like the max whp? Also if i start with the zage kit can i put a bigger turbo, injectors and intercooler to reach my goal? Will the turbo manifold hold? I am debating between the zage kit or go custom. My wheel horsepower goal is 200 on the stock motor if that is do able. Thanks in advance.

easy to make 200 with the Zage just like it is. You'll have to increase the boost to 10-12 psi to make it. This will require a very good tune, management and a good boost controller.
However, no one knows how long the stock motor can take that kind of abuse.

Garm, didn't you run 200 whp on the stock motor? The car will be mainly a daily driver with some track here and there. Is it best to build the motor? Like forged intervals minimum?

I ran 183 whp for about eight months. Lost a bit of compression in one cylinder over that time period. That was without a real tune, so who knows.

^ If you've changed your oil regularly your engine is probably in fine shape at 90k. Sure.

Damn one of those zage kits maybe on my xmas wish list as for tuning anyone think any tuning shops would be able to tune it no problem? I know I should search but my knowledge on cars is somewhat limited.

The kit has no tuning included, so basically what you would do is find a local reputable tuning shop and ask what they recommend and/or what they are comfortable tuning. Some of them might even have access to reduced pricing on the units that they might extend if you are going to be bringing them your business. Other way is to hang around forums and read whatever everyone else uses, then decide which route you wanna go, and hope your tuner can has the experience.

I hope that people who finally install this kit realize I've made by tune available... It should only require minimal tweaking at most, and could potentially save them $300-500 on tuning costs.

btw how much boost can our plastic manifold hold?
|
11-25-2010, 07:19 PM | #17 |
manifold will hold more than your engine can take stock.
yes, I can has camcon. It wires in to the ecu harness and allows adjustment of cam timing and fuel in 500 RPM increments. Easy install. Lacks monitoring features of some other units. Still, I like.
