09' Simota fitting? (pics)

Ok so I installed my Simota SRI, and it seems like the only way it will fit is if the filter is pressed up against the headlight. is that ok?

Yes i will put the metal thing on, just wanted to make sure it was ok first. haha

Also is it ok, if this isnt bolted to anything? Could I put it under the intake? or is it bad if its near hot areas?

I had the same problem the first time I put mine on. I attached it to the bracket for stock air box and it seemed to push it up too close to the hood so I removed the stock airbox bracket and bolted the SRI right to the sub frame, this lowered it giving the filter a little more room and a cleaner install. As for the part u are worried about not being bolted to any thing, I put mine under the intake...

Oh no its not close to my hood, it presses against my headlight. Is it ok?

Yeah I totally think it looks cleaner with it put under the intake.

ya mine hits the headlight too, I dont think it can harm anything. If it was a filter that also took air in from the top i would not want it on the headlight but the samota filter is not one like that.

yeah its ok. you can shove the the rubber all the way till it touches the tb if you want, but yeah it pushes on the headlight alot. it gave me no problems the time i had it. i really like it. you could get a slightly bigger/more flexible silicone piece to connect to the tb and have it touch each other if youwant, it may relieve some stress on the headlight.

yeah it sounds better than the afe imo oh and i recommend not putting that stupid L bracket holder thingy on, it'll just make an annoying rattle. the thing aint moving since its held up by the headlight anyway.
