from what i have read on the web, the only way to install them safely is with a roll bar.

Some harnesses are designed so that the shoulder belts join into 1 and you can attach it one of the rear lap belt bolts.

Yeah , i was also thinking about attaching it onto the seat bracket and one of the 4 points into the side of where the origional safety belt bolts in , or even under where the seat bolts into the floor??

A 4 or 5 point harness needs to be attached to the roll bar behind the seats.
No way will attaching over the shoulder harnesses rearch to the floor. I doubt it's legal either

not only isn't it legal, it's not safe. If you're going to put a harness into the car, either get a set designed to attach to the rear seatbelt mounts, or install a harness bar behind the front seats.

Personally, I wouldn't put a harness into a car without a roll cage. With a harness/no cage setup you'll be held nice and upright in the event of a rollover, which could be bad for your spine when the roof collapses like it's designed to.

you cant attach a harness to the floor because of submarining. You can destroy your spine! A harness bar or roll bar is a must!

you don't need a full roll bar. you can do a single bar just for harnesses behind the front seats. rear passengers beware.

Unless you add an extra bar and a locking hinge so it's like a rollercoaster restraint for the rear passengers
