FEB 26 UPDATES

We spent some time with the car today, sorting out a few issues. Bought aluminum piping to re-plumb the intercooler with 2.5" piping. Re-located the intercooler in the lower grill (yes!). Located a spot for the fuel pressure regulator.

Next challenge is a cable throttle body that works and connecting to the pedal. The one I got off eBay, supposedly for an '04 matrix) doesn't fit the manifold at all.

Removed the fuel pump, bought and installed a Walbro 255, which just fit.

STOCK PUMP (about the size of a D cell battery, LOL)

NEXT TO A BOSCH -- THAT WILL DEFINITELY NOT FIT

NEXT TO THE WALBRO 255 WHICH WAS SUBSEQUENTLY INSTALLED

Looking good Garm...

Can't wait to see the final build.

I like a little competition ;)

you might be able to bolt an older gens manifold with cable throttle.

kou, I need a throttle body that will fit, think I could bolt up a whole 1st gen mani onto it?

I definitely have to convert to cable.

you'd do better finding a TB from a 1zzfe (pre DBW) as it's bigger

or a celica GTS pre DBW

xA TB is tiny

but i do have a spare TB and intake manifold, if you're interested garm

I'll let you know what I find, I need this resolved before next Thursday.

The '04 matrix TB did not fit, bolt pattern was too big.

Hey garm well doing with your motor I like the red of your top cover. The pump is the same I will be using in my setup, I had been always told that Walbro is the best choice for fuel pump selection.

The electric water pump seems a good idea. Will add it in when I get stable in cash...

so if you're going to all this hard work to build an engine, 20 mins to drill out an adaptor plate from some aluminum shouldnt' be that big of a deal?
