Interior Paint Question

I decided I don't like the silver panel next to the radio anymore, so I wanted to paint it black, nice and simple. The only problem is my car gets incredibly hot and humid here in Orlando, it feels like it's about 150 degrees inside it sometimes haha. And I can't park in the garage (other cars in there), so I was worried that regular spraypaint wouldn't cut, so I was thinking about using EngineEnamel. Would this work out alright?

Also, do you guys think a gloss or flat black would better match a black leather?

Thanks!

I've seen the wrap, but I'm not so sure if the CF would fit in since nothing else on my car will have that (at least in my plan for it). Actually looking at it again I think it looks good :) Will one sheet be enough?

Glad you suggested that actually, really hadn't thought of it. I like it!

Yes. One sheet will be plenty. I got 2 sheets
and I wrapped my subwoofer box and parts of my interior and still have a ton left.
Good luck!!!

Sounds good, thanks! I think I'm just gonna wrap the silver panel and the one where my shifter is even though that one is black already. And while I'm doing that, I can change the climate control bulbs :D Also gonna try to wrap the knobs for those since they're silver as well.

Maybe try something with my subs if I have a lot of spare leftovers :P

Haha, looking at them kinda scares me, but my dad is awesome at this sort of stuff, so he should be able to get the job done if I can't. He's also helping me build an amp 'rack' over the summer.:D

The silver console is just paint as well so I don't think you'll have a problem with heat making new paint peel if you prep the surface correctly.

I painted mine with a satin black at first, but it got scratched up a bit from one of those cell phone holders you stick in the vents. I recently repainted it with some of that truck bed liner paint that is very sturdy and adds an awesome texture as well. I had also painted the knobs with the satin black but didn't paint them with the truck bed liner. It looks great!

P.S. If anyone chooses to use the same paint - the trick is to hold the can at least a 1.5 feet away when spraying as the paint goes on thick!

Would you be able to post a picture of it? Then I'd be able to decide for sure if I want to wrap or paint it.

Damn, that looks really nice Altitude... I'll have to consider what to do. You just used black trunk liner for it?

It was this stuff in the spray can. Picked it up from the local auto parts store. By the way, I also tried wrapping it with Neffy, but being a perfectionist I just couldn't get it to wrap well so I scrapped that idea.
