MAP sensor wire just reaches.
Now, the instructions don't address this sensor with the blue connector coming off it. I ended up TyWrapping it to the tube. Thoughts?

Final install again from different vantage points.
Likes; Looks almost "factory", very conservative appearance. Does'nt really scream till over 5000RPM Good quality parts and finish Not annoyingly loud in the car at all with windows up. Works well with my TRD exhaust... Dislikes; Instructions can be a bit vauge, pics are B/W and kinda dark. Ended up with 2 extra bolts and 2 extra washers. Why?? What the hell are you supposed to do with that loose sensor? 5/8" hose gets attached to 1/2" elbow on intake tube, hose too wide. Expect to take OVER an hour to do this and TAKE YOUR TIME! This kit is well worth the $170. It's not rice or boy racer looking and everything seems to stay in place after a few trial drives tonight. Everything fits nice and there is good attention to details, EXCEPT that sensor thing...

Hey Poop,
I saw your YouTube video featuring this intake. Nice... All you need now is to toss the stock exhaust!

This is a photo of the same intake installed in mine its the 1.3L version of the engine, but its the same anyhow. Mine was just straped on with the plastic tie to the intake hoseing. I saw one of your photos and you screwed in the bottom right part, i don't remember seeing my mechanic do that....i don't think there was a screw in bit on that right side. Haha.

You could remove the sensorand bracket , and twist the metal leg on it 90 deg, then losen the top 3" hose clip side it under and do hose clip up again.
The Spare bolt (M6X30mm and 2 washers are used if you did not remove the orginal airbox mounting bracket, theres a hole in the bottom of the AFE box that lines up with the bracket . That's if you did not remove it ,when you removed original airbox . Last edited by 1NZYaris1; 01-08-2009 at 02:01 AM. |
