Question Tinted headlights/taillights???

I see the blacked out lights everywhere but have no idea where to get them. I searched online but found only tint kits for lights? Is this the only way its done? Or am I missing something? Please help! Im trying to black out my car now and any help or advice anyone has would be great!

I used VHT NiteShades on my tails, and it worked pretty well for me. You could tint the headlights, but alot of people on here paint and smoke them. Definitely recommend some HID's or fogs for headlight mods though.

@ Prohibit:

Might want to check local laws first. 5 oh might not like it.

That looks nice, but if you did that here the cops would shoot you in the eye, skull fu*k you, and eat your spleen.

I used Lamin-X film for my tail lights and 3rd brake light. I chose 'smoke' which is a moderate tint and so far I've had no problems with local law enforcement in California.

Before:

After:

Tinted at night (still plenty bright in my opinion):

Tinted with brakes applied:

@Herbicidal

how long did the install take?
Are they car wash safe?

They seem to be very similar tech to 'invisible shield' for gadgets

I think it took about 20 minutes per corner. I was a little faster on the 2nd one. I only hand wash my car so I don't have the answer to that, sorry! However, they are stuck on there pretty good in my opinion. They have some adhesive that reacts with the water when applied, so it's not just a static "cling". Here's a link to my thread of when I installed the tint last November.

You can buy the Adhesive Tint or go to a local Paint Shop and get a quote...Its usually not that bad. I've seen on some cars if you tint the headlights the tint can chip/peel. I personally like the paint smoked look cause you can make it as shiny as the car. They all work though, its really your call.

In regards to the law, If you see a lot of smoked lights in the area you're probably safe...if not call a local shop and check...they'd know for sure
