2008 Toyota Yaris

Recently I bought a 2008 Toyota Yaris in the Dayton area. Whatever radio station we had it on up there worked fine but as soon as we got back to the Cincinnati area we could barley pick up any radio stations. It would be all static or come in and out. I contacted the person I bought it from and she said she never had any issues. It doesn't have a stick antenna ( so I'm guessing its the one in the glass). Can anybody help me!? Thanks

Ummmm...there should be an antenna at the back of the roof, such as in this pic!

If your new Yaris is sedan, then the antenna is in the rear window glass, along with the rear defroster. If that is the case, check the connector that brings the wire to the glass to see if it is pulled off.

Also, does it have a factory radio or aftermarket? The Yaris uses an antenna booster and needs to be wired in. Many dont know this, so it doesnt get hooked up when going after market.

Hi there, just changed the HU (07 Sedan) from the standard one (Pioneer) to a single DIN Sony. The radio reception seems a little weaker, so your boster comment makes sence.

I did notice a seperate single whote wire plugged into the std HU, but I didn't know what is for.

Is this the booster and if so, how do I wire it up?

Thanks,

Did you plug the antenna firmly into the rear of the Head unit?

Looks like the OP posted two questions in this forum and then disappeared!

I hate when people do that, if you want help then at least have the common courtesy to check back!
