Any EASY way to add ABS to an 07 3D hatch?
Was wondering if I could trade my "pro-lock" brakes to some ABS or something by adding/swapping some easy parts? Just a dream probably.... heh

Oh adding ABS is easy as anything else.
You just remove a TON of components, install the ABS, and put it back together. Define easy: just some bolts, wires, tools, brake lines, pump and valve body, and intermediate auto knowledge ? yes takes all day or several days ? yes need many new expensive parts and new electrical harnesses and switches ? yes might not meet the definition of 'easy' depending on your day job if you were an electrical/mechanical engineer with tools, you could install your own home-grown sensors to determine 4 wheel speed and integrate that with the transmission speed output and install your own pump valve, and then spec and build a controller circuit, but by then you could get a car with ABS built in. again..define easy. this would be 'easy to do' for CTScott but take a metric f**kton of time of time to execute safely. ----------- find a wrecked Yaris with ABS and strip it, and swap all working parts... would be the cheapest way to go |
