Yaris MPG not real high.

I'm a bit surprised at the MPG of the Yaris. City is 30 and highway is 37. The Fit is 33 city and 41 highway. The Corolla is 30 city and 42 highway. It seems the Yaris should be in the 40 MPG range. Just my thoughts. Drive safe my friends.

Yea,you are misunderstanding the cars made for the test, and the cars made for real life. Honda loves to get fake numbers on the test, which has zero to do with real life.

Toyota makes their cars to do well in actual real life, and understands that consumers are intelligent and will figure out that a bunch of manufacturers just care about the test, and don't care at all what you get in real life.

The next thing to understand is that the tech used in the Yaris has not really changed since the 90's. The Yaris gets its numbers with no electronic wizardry, and it is really easy to increase those numbers. My best tank is 50 mpg, and there are a few people that can get over that on a regular basis.

Oh yeah, and it's normal the Corolla gets better highway mileage due to its bigger engine. And probably aerodynamics has something to do with it too.

actually, only the LX model of the fit with the CVT transmission gets 33/41. the manual fit gets 29/37 which is actually lower than the manual yaris at 30/37.

the corolla is 30/40/34 in the LE ECO model only.....and that's only 1 mpg higher combined over the 30/37/33 of the yaris.

the yaris does pretty darn well considering its not using a CVT.

35 in the city, 42 on the highway with my manual tranny two door hatchback all day long. No hypermiling, no moseying. Green, step on it and go.

Geeze I wish... My 09 A/T gets high 20's low 30's (on a good day). My M/T 07 would get 38-40 every fill-up before it was totaled.

I used to think something was wrong with my 09 until I literally spent hundreds of dollars trying things to get it to have better MPG. I stopped worrying about it, and stopped checking my MPG.
