ECM Harness Question

During a recent ECM swap I inadvertently broke the latching mechanism for the Body Side Harness. Is there a way to repair the latching mechanism short of replacing the entire connector (Ain't Gonna Happen!!)?

Thanks!

Pictures would help. Some parts can be replaced.

Hear are a couple of shots of the body side ECM harness where I broke the latching mechanism.

Good news, bad news. Good news is that it's entirely replaceable. The bad news is that it's a pain in the arse to remove the small pins. I just bought a tool from TE (Tyco/AMP) that's supposed to be designed for those and it's not very effective. There's a few other part numbers that I may try but they're really expensive.

The actual latching slides (maybe not the right term?) are in good shape and seem to hold stuff together pretty well. Maybe I can use a zip tie to assure all stays in place. Not really up to the task of changing the connector. More than likely if it is a PITA I will make the situation worse. Thanks for the info!

Always glad to help! You may find that it's still able to lock in place even with the broken hinge. The slides do most of the clamping.
