I'd be nice if you can use an oil extractor to change the oil but the filter is still under there.

I made ramps out of 2x8's laid flat and nailed together. Long one on the bottom, medium length in the middle and a small one on the top. Make as many platforms as you like. Mine are 3 tier giving 4.5" height. It's not a lot and not suitable for any sort of major repair work but they lift the lowered car just enough to get the oil out and a new filter on.

That’s what I’m looking for. I just got the RV leveler ramps at Harbor freight. It’ll be a few days before I can test them out!

The closest one i deal with is once again my daughters Accent. That maintenance book says every 7,500 miles. The other issue along with oil holding up 10000 miles, is the capacity of the filter you choose. I have read where some have ran the Mobil1 20000 mile oil and changed just the filter at 10000 miles. You still could be setting yourself up for a battle with Toyota should engine lubrication be the root cause a any problems at hand. |

Well you are right the oil filter would be a concern holding up 10,000 miles. And I too question the wisdom of 10,000 oil changes.
However! It says right in The owners manual 12 months or 10,000 miles between oil changes which ever comes first.

Yeah it’s crazy isn’t it? Why 5000 miles for a Yaris and 10,000 miles for a corona?

From my point of view, the oil change depends on the way you drive your car. I like to speeding so I drive very aggressively. That's why I change my oil every 7000 miles. I bought a 2020 Corolla last year. I changed the oil only once, and I didn't have any problems. I think that this is the best car. I bought it at a very affordable price. It was the lowest on market. That's why is a big advantage to buy a used car. I saved a lot of money taking this decision. The guys from there offered me free insurance for one year. It's a good plus.

im a toyota master diagnostic tech, 10,000 mile intervals are for our 0w20 and 0w16 full synthetic cars, the yaris is 5k conventional, ive changed oil on thousands of these 10k interval cars and the oil drains clean still, changing oil on 5k conventional comes out blacker than my soul, im pretty convinced 10,000 is ok for the interval, these new engines have very advanced emission control now to keep blowby and fue vapor at bare minimum, i wouldnt be surprised if the future is going to be 30k oil changes soon

Interesting. I hope you are right about the 10,000 mile interval. Lucky for me I will be driving maybe 6000 miles a year and will change it once a year.
