2: I currently run stock deck & speakers and dual 8's in a ported box with 160watts.... it'd give similar performance to what you'd install... and I hate the sound of it.... Its better than stock.. but I would never recommend somebody do this unless they already had the equipment laying around. Running an amp off the stock deck adds wierd noise/sound issues a lot of the time, unless you go out and buy a $200+ piece of equipment. Also... why spend $200 or more on a sub & amp and nothing on your door speakers? Think about it, subs play 20% of the audio spectrum... yet people usually spend 80% of their money on the sub stage vs the mids + highs.... Should be closer to 50/50, or even 20/80 (subs/mids). buy a deck, a 4 channel amp (something like 75x4 rms) and run the front two channels to your door speakers, then the rear channels of the amp bridged to your sub... you'd get around 250-300 watts to your sub that way (if your sub is 4ohm). |

I believe you would want line level input off the speakers wires for your amp if bumpin' is your goal, if but I'm with talnlnky. For way less you could get 4 better speakers to go with your head unit(for as little as $100) and see an amazing improvement.

LOC's/Line Level inputs usually don't sound as good as just buying an aftermarket deck with pre-outs (unless its one of the $200+ LOC's) My setup I had laying around, its only temp until I get access to a garage, and have the time to do a weeks worth of install work. My lil amp had Line level inputs built in. Once I hooked everything up I messed around with the crossovers, eq, gain and fader options for about a week before getting it to sound the way I wanted.... Had I just installed a cheap $100 deck i would've only had to do about 5-15mins worth of adjusting before being happy. |
