scratched!!! arrrg!
This morning someone parked way too close behind my Yaris and scratched my bumper:
What should I do? Should I leave a note saying "Thank you for scratching my car!" ?!? Should I file a claim to my insurance company? Please advise. Thanks! Last edited by YarisFan007; 07-24-2009 at 01:57 PM. |

I'd wait there and confront the owner of that VW. By that, I mean give the owner the option of paying to repaint the bumper out of pocket, or have their insurance company take care of it without you having to pay a penny.

You have pictures, do you also have the license plate of the car that hit you? If so, call the non-emergemcy line of your local police and report a hit-and-run. Unless the owner of the offending car made some effort to contact you, they are guilty and you need a police report to file against their insurance company.

pink wheels are cool
|
you can see the paint on the bumper
i would wait till they come out, or just have the photos with plates and then go about your business if they leave with out a note call the police, file a hit and run, tell the police that you have photos of the damage and damage to the other car |

what you do is you call the cops and file a police report, then you call your insurance and they contact the persons insurance and then they have to pay for it. ;)

I know it's the V-dub that hit my car because it was parked less then 3/4 of an inch from my bumper. He or she was trying to squeeze in between mine and another car that has barely enough space for that idiot to park in.
No, he or she did NOT leave any note on my car nor the other car, which by the way received some scratches as well on theirs.... I wonder if the driver of the other car will try to contact this V-dub driver. Yes, I did take down the license plate as well as the VIN! HaHa! I didn't have time to wait for the guy or girl because I had stuff to do, so I made sure I took pics for evidence. haha. I was gonna slash their tires but, since I'm a nice guy I decided to play cool : ) I do however would like to file a claim. Last edited by YarisFan007; 07-26-2009 at 03:18 AM. |

I wish I did this with this idiot who hit my car and just left there car pushing mine. I left, came back, the girl got back in the car and left, and I didnt have a chance to confront her. Next thing I know, the picture was too blury from the cell phone and no licence plate came out. Sighs... My center pice of the front bumper is cracked on both sides.
