Where are you guys getting your paint job prices from? Scott was/is the only person even remotely close. I have had 5 cars painted. In Connecticut....a repainted Yaris would cost ATLEAST $5K and that may not include the jambs. You would, of course, have to pull the motor to do the engine compartment and possible rotisserie if you really wanted the WHOLE car painted. $2K won't even get your nose painted.

First of all, Meteorite Metallic looks a lot better than black.

And as others have pointed out, just buy a brand new Yaris, it'll be cheaper and much less hassle. Plus, a repainted car loses it's value.

A good paint job would be at least $600 starting price (exterior + all door jams), but you can bargain too. I got the dings and scratches from my 2nd car with total repaint included for only $350, and that was because I ran back and forth between 2 competing places a few times. You're not getting a "good" paint job for $600. Perhaps a Maaco quality job that will start peeling and fading in a month. "Good" starts at about $2,000.
Factory quality you're looking at over $3,000.

$5,000 is excessive unless we're talking about "superior" quality paint jobs and custom jobs. Go check out Maaco, $300-$400 for their basic job. The paint lasts a solid month or two!

Our family ( sister mainly) avoided the Black. Went for the ?? Blue but ended up with the Bayou used. The first car we found for sale was a Black 3 dr and just didnt cut it at least in stock form. BTW, repainting you car will drop the resale value a lot! Maybe cheaper to trade on another used vehicle - say to dealer manager " lets do this deal - I give you a quick 500 bucks and we swap cars". Maybe they'll bite?
