Driver side Seat Belt
I have harness's installed and was wondering how do I get rid of the Driver side warning light and Chime all together. Is it just a "splice the wires and your good to go" method? if so which wires? I on;y see two and I've read about if you disconnect it or something it will stop the car from starting or something. THank you in advance.

Can't you just latch it from behind the seat?

Bypassing safety features - think of it as evolution in action.

The first thing he said was that he had a harness installed, which means a four-point or something like this...
(Great visual aid, eh?) ...that is much safer than the standard seatbelt. Now, all I can think of is to put one of the old seat belt ends into the slot; but he is asking about doing a little electric mod. Can someone help, instead of posting responses without even reading his first post? If there is any "evolution" or "Darwinism" in action here, it is simple reading comprehension and situational awareness will greatly increase your chances of survival! |

Go badger a Toyota dealer, it's in the manual if you rummage that they can disable the seatbelt chimes.

... and put a bit of tape over the light...
Looks like we have to cover this subject about every 2 months. Too bad the Search function doesn't work. |

Keep it simple; swipe a seatbelt extension from your dealer. Owner's manual states that they will be provided to you for free; got mine for free just days after I bought my car.

And there are lots of threads on this subject... for the PASSENGER seat belt And I don't know if he wants to be sitting on top of an extension?? I wouldn't. Maybe he could finagle it behind the seat, but I'd still take it to the dealer to see if they'll just disable it. |

If your dealer is willing to do so, the chime can be disabled without any cutting or disassembly. Disabling the chime is done by plugging in a proprietary scan tool into the car and selecting the appropriate setting. Should take about fifteen minutes.

Don't hook the belt into the extension. The extension fits into the buckle/latch and tucks neatly between seat and console. Hardly know it's even there and doesn't ever have to be enabled and disabled by the dealer once it's installed...about a 5 second project; easiest solution there is. |

Once the service tech plugged in the scanner, it took 30 seconds to disable the chime for both the driver and passenger seats. It beeps 5 times then shuts up. No real complication there...

Actually I figured it out and did a switch mod. I got a switch that I can either turn the seatbelt signal on or off with. I just modified my Aux input jack in the center console and stuck a on off switch in there. Looks pretty mean if you ask me hahaha
