Looking for help installing reversing camera- Yaris 2012 - Toyota Yaris Forums

Hi
I would like to install a reversing camera that came as a part of a kit of Chinese multimedia that I've purchased. I believe that members of the forum have done it and I would like to ask for their advise and experience doing it, since it seems to be quite complicated to do the wiring, specially on the back door hinge.
The vehicle is a NSP130L model.

I just did this on my GF's car. With my shit luck, the wiring was too short to run from the plate area up to the taillight - so I soldered up some extension wires and ran that for the signal.

With a hatch you WILL have to get creative & patient. You can run the original (or extension) wires thru the factory grommet, then pull it thru the headliner, down the C-pillar (obviously remove the weatherstripping & interior trims, as necessary), the run them and tap them into the taillights.

I did something similar on a Lexus SUV a couple years ago, and had to run it behind the curtain airbags - such a pain...
