Voice control. Usually that is paired with the two phone buttons above it on Toyota vehicles.

Maybe the base model now has a tachometer in the instrument cluster

The symbol is a car crossing a white line, the button is to turn the LDA ( lane departure alert ) part of the new TSS ( Toyota safety sense ) package on/off

That would be such an odd, weirdly prominent spot to put this button...

... but sure enough, that's what it is.

Please... no CVT! I'm so happy with the 1.5 and the 4-speed auto.

I didn't think Toyota had any problems with there CVT's butt maybe I have just missed the complaints
I had a 99 Tacoma with a 4 speed auto and it did not always have the right gear to accelerate well most of the time it was OK so I've tried to stay away from 4 speed autos

I have a 2000 celica and 1998 protege both 4 speed auto. Never a problem or oil change in the transmission. Rest of the car's is pretty bad...I am ready to buy a new 4 speed auto. I am still fighting this CVT stuff..

The Yaris 4-speed automatic transmission is a brilliant piece of work. It upshifts and downshifts quickly, smoothly, and precisely... never hunting for gears. Drive it hard, and it doesn't complain. I love it!

The 2017 is a Mazda 3, so it's mostly Mazda technology.

Canada gets the Sedan as a Mazda 3, and HB as the Toyota. USA only gets the HB. From what I've heard the Sedan also gets forward collision detection.

US has the sedan as the Scion iA currently. Will be sold as Toyota Yaris iA from now on.

Big change for 2017 is the Safety Sense C.
