Question G/F got a yaris, had a few questions

Hello! My name is Patrick, I own a Scion tC, but my g/f just got a new Yellow Jolt Type S liftback!!!!!

Anyhow, to my knowledge (at least what i was told), you can not add the power package [power windows/locks/60-40 split rear seats/etc] to the Type S model. Yeah, she doesn't have power locks, whatever..... but what bugs me is the crank windows. :X I guess it's something I COULD get used to. Anyhow, is it possible to add power windows and locks to this baby? It's such a great looking car, it just makes me sad that it's not... fully loaded (for a lack of better term). I dunno, I guess to me the Type S should at the very least have that option.

Any input would be appreciated.

it is possible to add power windows and locks... but it would be aftermarket and from what I understand they are expensive, hard to install correctly, and don't work that well. Personally, i just chose to just live with the lack of power package. Just pretend like you chose not to get it to save weight

Ohh well. It seems like I'm just going to have to get used to it, I guess it's not that big of a deal. Other than that, her's kinda makes me want a Yaris of my own, they're nice! :D

"S" model is not a package and power package is supposed to be available for "S" model too. If the dealer said power package is not available for "S" model, then I would guess he BSed.

The price for the kits isnt really that bad and if you get a high quality kit it will work fine. I'm going to give you a couple of links to the kits you will need. I have done the power lock kit on my 07 Sedan and it works great. I havent tried the power window kit but Im sure its not that bad either. Here are the links:

That's what I thought as well. I did the "build your yaris" from the Toyota website and I was able to add the power package to the S liftback. My only guess is, that since she got it from Toyota Corporate (her mom works for Toyota), that the power package option wasn't available as an option to add on to the S. [still utterly confused]

Hmmm.... Weird.
I know power package exists for S model because the first '09 Yaris LB I saw at the dealer was LB S with power package, which was $17k+. There was no none-S model at that time and I had to wait for base model.

well on toyota.com you can get both the Type S and Power Package ... but i think what the dealership meant is that whatever they have in inventory is what they have and they can't add the power package to whatever they have ... it would be considered a custom order

That's not a bad price at all especially if it's confirmed that they work well!!

Thanks! :D

I'm gonna look into the A1 Kit. I just bought her an alarm, I wonder if the guys at the shop can wire up the A1 kit to work with the alarm remotes.

Well, her car was a custom ordered though (she waited like 2 months for it)... and she did select the power package as an option for her S, but when it came in, there was no power package installed. They didn't charge her for it, but they said you couldn't get both.... which I thought was strange.

Oh ya! That's true.
In my region, power package is not available for base 5-speed 3-door LB.
I know other states have those :(
But power package is available for S model 5-speed 3-door LB.
Maybe this one's not availabe in certain states.
