Protection!!!!
I have had my Copper-Orange RS for a week now, and I love it! It's early in the relationship, but I guess it is time to put some serious thought into protection. I am considering 3 options: wax - dealer says 2X a year with a quality product; 3M Coating - I have heard good and bad so far; body side moldings - ugly, but do they work? Any comments are appreciated, but try to stick to personal experience, not what you have read on another website, or heard from a friend of a friend of a friend.

I have personally used Turtle Super Hard Shell wax. Not the best but cheap. They say it lasts up to one year(Note: they say). Care must be exercised to avoid putting it on non paint surfaces though. Otherwise, it is easy to use and the effect is noticeable, if not excellent.
It cannot protect you against dings and dents. |

Thanx swng. I have heard good things about "the Turtle" from many. Back in the day I used something called "Blue Poly", but I have been sort of out of touch with car care for a while. My previous cars were transportation more than anything. My Copper-Orange RS on the other hand I want to keep looking HOT.

Zaino Z2 Pro...It changes the way the car's finish looks completely...I wax more like once a month, when I'm driving the car regularly....

Thanks Echo. I had never heard of Zaino before hitting this website. Is it a wax or a high-tech synthetic???? Is it widely available in Canada. The service department at my dealer says 2X per year, to avoid a wax build-up that can yellow. Have you heard differently???

Zaino is a polymer, and lasts much longer than wax, as well as leaving no white residue on your plastics...

my father in law is the kind of guy that takes great care of his cars, (he has a 1991 jeep cherokee with 350,000 km on it that still runs like a dream)-
he would only use a topnotch product and he said that mothers was the best, and i am willing to take his word on it. |

I used to use Zymol. It worked great, but I would rather try one of the new polymer products. It's less work, just once a year.
