GE Nighthawks and SpiderLites Installed

Well I just installed my Spiderlites....I will take pics this evening once the sun goes down. In the broad daylight they illuminate with the same "brightness" of the stock bulbs so far as I can see.

The 3 is what fits on our car and in all honesty one of the "legs" slightly sits on the "floor" of the "compartment" that the taillight is in. I know a lot of quotes, but hey...it is lunch damn it and I am eating

I did have a coworker tell me that they looked nice as I left the lot going to get lunch.

well i had checked out a couple other LED retailers and they are calling for adapters or voltage components and I am just prepared at this point to make that kind of try so i figured "what the hell", plus I thought as well that I would not have too tough a time sending them back if need be.

Well here are the pics of my GE Nighthawks. The first is the low and the second of course is the high. Did my best, butmy camera sucks:

Here are my SpiderLites. The first is a little before dusk, the second is at night without brakes applied, and the last is with brakes applied (a friend took the pic so it is a little fuzzy...sorry...bite it if you don't like it ):

That's aight....I like them, but not as much as I was hoping to. I need to contact the company and find out what the return policy is cause I might send them back in a couple days, or I might keep them. I figured that someone needed to put themselves on the line for the group and give 'em a try.

Well, ya took one for the team then.

Concept is good, but just doesn't light up the whole tail light lens like the round stock bulbs do.

...Or maybe those do, and your pictures are really just that shitty, lol!

nice try...
thanks for testing out for all of us...
too bad i think the tail lights look too simple...
only 3 legs... it should have been 6 legs or more...
it'll be even better if it makes a circle like the jdm vitz rs tails...

Yeah, JDM is the way to go... if you have 400+ to dump on tails.

Well the biggest problem for us Sedan peeps is that they don't have JDM product when it comes to tails....just the stock...bastards that they are!

Please try to take some more pictures, preferably with a tripod!! I can't tell from the picture, but the 5 leg one's might look pretty good if they "complete the circle" better. If they illuminate too much like a "beacon" this could also be alleviated a bit by painting the taillights with a bit of red transparent spraypaint for model cars..

The GE nighthawks look pretty white, but I can't tell unless you're on level ground and about 100 ft. from a wall (preferably white, but doesn't matter since you're just adjusting the beam direction..

The only trouble with the SpiderLites in the amount of legs is that only the 3 leg will fit. The 5 leg assembly is longer by an inch per leg. I think that they have more legs for tails that have a larger area that can be filled inside the "light cabinet". Believe me, if I could have gotten a 5 leg then I would have. As it is the bottom leg is "brushing the inside of the "light cabinet". As for the tripod, well I can't do that however I can talk with a friend that has a sony digicam and I can ask him to borrow it. Once I get it I can prop it up on a ladder or something. As for the Nighthawks for 26 bucks the improvement is great as far as I am concerned. They are not HIDs however what can you do right?

Tripods make a WORLD of difference in taking pictures... too bad I left mine in the house during the Cusco write-up.
