Well, I came off the mountain (4 lane, 20% grade ) the other day with zero traffic for about a mile to clean her out and I never hit the rev limiter. The indicated speed was just a tick under 120 before I let off. When you factor in speedometer error (which is unknown) and lack of pinging the rev limiter I guess you might be able to top 115 MPH under perfect conditions. Ironically my old Tacoma pickup with 2RZ with hit the rev limiter at 115 MPH indicated with manual and go no further. I really loved the 2RZ power-plant.

I couldn't imagine going 100+ in one of these cars.

It reminds me (yaris) of driving one of my old jeeps. When you get the vibe down then you just go with the flow. The car is pretty capable, but twitchy do to the short wheel base and such. At one time I couldn't imagine zipping along the tree tops at 100+ in a UH-1 (Huey), but it was better then walking.

I definitely wouldn't go 100+ in a stock yaris. With some good 17s and some suspension upgrades it's actually quite fun! Nothing like losing a big SUV uphill going 100

I have taken mine stock with the 15 sport wheels to around 110 and it drove great....braking worked well also...nw I can say there is no way in hell that I would do it with more than a 5-10 mph cross wind...

I still have not figured out the gear ratio. In my opinion reverse is high. Does anyone know what the trans axle ratio is?

zipped through Utah for about an hour and a half going about 100mph kept trying to catch this which cobra...couldnt do it...but the car itself felt real nice...it is a lowered sedan with the 15" upgrade alloys...
but then trying to climb the mountins in Colorado was a different story....flored, and losing speed up to the top...a couple of them i wasnt sure if i was going to make it over :) |

110mph, GPS verified. But it takes forever. It reads 175kph on the speedo.

i've seen this video on youtube, where his yaris is placed on the roller, and the digital speedo would not go any higher than 199kph...
