Futur set-up, what do you think ?
Hi there,
I've a HB 2007 and I'd like to put some sound in it ..... I went to the audio shop and the set-up that offered me, is as follow : - HU : already have an Alpine IDA-X305 - front spealers : Hertz hsk 165 - back door : Hertz hsk 165 - Sub : Kenwood excellon shallow 10" in a sealed box - Amp : either Alpine PDX-5 or Audison LRX 6.9 Let me know if there is an advantage to have 2 set of Hertz Hsk in the car .... Also, would it be to much for a Yaris, that set-up ..... Thanks |

personally I found that in the yaris the rear speakers do almost nothing at all really. I took mine out and havent looked back. you wont notice the difference I promise, plus you'll have the 10" kenwood to fill out the cabin.
save some cash and just do the front with some components.

rears are teh sto0pid! I haven't ran rear speakers in any of my installs since about 02.
make sure the box is fully sealed... if its a prefab box I'd go around the edges with silicon sealant on the inside to make sure. Also, throw in a bit of polyfil (pillow stuffing) in the box... it'll help lower the qtc of the box which means... it'll have a more gradual roll off (play lower). |

I haven't yet install my set-up in my car, not enough cash and time to do it. Well now I can, and I have a question, what harness do I need to put the alpine in my hb 2007. Is there one that doesn't need sodering ?
Thanks |

I just want to let know, those who have a Yaris 2007 and want to install an alpine HU, that a complete harness with no sodering, do exist. I got it from France, and the unit works fine and was hooked up in 5 minutes :)

I agree, the rear speakers are almost useless. They are too close to the front speakers and the car isn't big enough to get any separation to make sound distinction effective.

Also agree - no need for rear speakers- save money for installation hardware: speaker and power wires, interconnects, etc. |
