Ncp96 awd vitz

I noticed the vitz with awd has the same rear diff as the old rav4. Which can be had here for $100. Anybody know if any other parts are donor parts? Id really like to build a rallycross monster yaris.

There's a thread on here (that I can't seem to find at the moment) where I posted all of the parts required to convert a FWD Yaris to an AWD Vitz. The tranny is unique, so that would be the tough one for doing a conversion with scavenged parts over here.

I have actually been looking for two years now for a cheap wrecked RAV4 to harvest the drive train and make a YAR4. Wrecked RAV4s are way more expensive than wrecked Yaris unfortunately. The 2 door RAV4 is almost perfect wheelbase wise, but I have yet to run into a 4WD 2 door. I almost purchased a wrecked 2 door, realizing at the last moment that it was 2WD (as prior to that I had just assumed that all RAV4s were 4WD).

A better choice may even be the drive train from and AWD Matrix, as we already know that the 2ZR-FE engine fits perfectly in a Yaris.

I've been thinking about this as well. A friend has a 97 rav that he no longer wants and wants $900 for.
once I get my surf motor swap done I might pick up the rav and strip it out.

it is electric awd? I haven't really found any specs on it to see how the awd system works.

No. It is a driveshaft to the rear diff. The transfer case is built into a special version of the automatic transmission. It also has hump in the center of the rear floor for the driveshaft tunnel.

You might as well do a dual motor/tranny setup (one driveline in the front, one in the back).

Probably cheaper and easier, plus more power.
