RS Bumper and US Bumper Differences

I have did a bit of a search and still haven't gotten a solid conclusion or answer as to the difference between the RS (JDM) bumper and the US bumpers. A thorough explaination would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance!

The RS bumper is different, plain and simple, the USDM bumper is equivalent to the U/X/F/B/I'LL bumper, way I understand it, the bumper supports are different on the RS than the other trims, the rear bumper is quite a bit different too, and has integrated rear fog light.

RS has one big opening in the middle of the bumper, US bumper has three small openings across the bottom of the bumper, one wide in the middle, and two small openings on either side, either with or without fog lights in them. There is also a difference in the rear bumpers. Note that all the pics of these cars have some sort of bodykit on them, but the fronts have just a lip, as do the rears. The JDM RS rear bumper has a little different contour to it, with added lights.

i think the question was concerning the rear bumper itself. but those side-by-side shots are great.

i think the us front and RS rear would be a great combo!

the "car-side" harness swap idea is actually pretty feasable all of a sudden (or i think it is). anywaiz, i surfed around and found this little $7 item:

http://www.k4.dion.ne.jp/~vitz/EnglishTSlamp.htm

^basically, it looks like an adaptor of some sort to fit the jdm RS tails to the usdm/non-rs "car-side" (a.k.a. "body-side").

Check this out, thx for JustAnotherAsian's info...

Are you sure the US rear is Longer than the JDM (non-RS) rear bumper? I might also need to ask Hyde the same question...

From what I've read and my understanding as far as the N/A Yarii go, they are "longer" just because of our crash test requirements, but I believe its just the bumper that is modified for N/A so the car is longer obviously not by much. If that makes sense?

You mean both front and rear bumper in N/A are designed a little bit longer than JDM ones?

for those of you still wondering...
the best way is to find a usdm and a non usdm yaris pictures with same angle to compare...

usdm yaris back...

jdm vitz back...

usdm side profile...

jdm vitz side profile...

european...

now do you see the rear bumper is longer for usdm...?
but the front... i can't tell...

Remember I'm not talking about the actual chassie of the car its just the bumper (not cover) is more reinfornced/modified for N/A to meet the safety regs. So with that in mind we get a slightly modified bumper so it can accomedate the requirement (hence sticking out more), and yes both front and rear...from reading I believe Canada's is more strict, I want to say 8 mph bumper is required??? Maybe someone else can confirm that. But I'm not mister know it all maybe someone can confirm what I said but I believe that is right.

Another prime example is the Honda FIT, the reason the front sticks out so much is the modified bumper to accomedate N/A requirments thus making it even uglier! I think the JDM version looks better somewhat.
Hope that helps!

that RS Bumper looks to be as long as a US (non RS) bumper, (comparing to non-US and non-RS). The source from kenbow's site, I think, says the fenderline is different... but the english is a little awkward so maybe he might be saying something else? ^^

*crosses fingers and hopes rs bumper can fit usdm specs >.>
