Cont: Rota GT3

So I finally bought the tires yesterday and got a chance to put on the new wheels there are alot of pics...The items that were bought for my car were the following

Rota GT3 4x100 Red 16x7
Falken Azenis Rt615 205/40/16
Rim locks from Autozone cheapies but goodies let me tell u

And after driving the car to the beach, the ride is completely different. Let me tell the guys that are looking for tires, these are the ones. You dont understand the amount of grip these tires get on the street. There is certain turns i wouldnt be able to go at 50 mph and now i can perfectly without slowing down. Hope u guy enjoy

These are it with stocks...

NEW WHEELS!

Not Lowered

Lowered( with 4 fat guys in the car, so thats how my car will look when i buy springs lol)

2 fat guys dropping my car to the ground!

Here are just normal shots around my job

Just wait for the Tein springs that will be on this bitch in about a week and a half or soo...

wish you would have gone with 205/45/16 or 195/50/16 so you would have a little more side wall, anyway it's going to look good when dropped, I wasn't sure about the red but it looks pretty nice, 'bout time you got rid of those steelies

I think the red rims look pretty good. Surprised you went with such a low profile tire... but I guess you plan to really slam the car.

with Tein Spring, that's not too low for 205/45/16?

you see,
i've decided that i will use Tein Spring instead and I'm shipping back the Tanabe DFs that i received early today, (a friend owns the store in Jersey).

in my mind,
i'm lock with the tire size 205/40/16..because i thought it's the best size.
now you mention 205/45...hmmm...i'm confuse.

btw,
i went to Autobacs today and i saw tons of rims in display.
and i think i saw couple of them that will be on the Yaris very soon.
just need to show my wife first to get her approval (technically..it's her daily car).

several people running 205/40/17 and 205/45/16 is slightly smaller than that, with this drop 205/45/16 should be totally fine or 195/50/16

I am running 205/50/15 with a 3 inch drop in the front and 2.5 in the rear

Even with the car lowered, the gap to the front and rear of the tires is just too much.

Those tires are just too damn tiny for the application.

205/40/16's are almost 6% undersized.

We usually try to stay within the 3% range when upgrading tire sizes.

In Japan, I saw some oversized applications that apparently worked very well on the road. For example, I saw an unlowered Vitz with 205/50/17's (approx +4%). BTW, it looked great!

Undersized applications sometimes look okay if you really slam the car, but then it's barely roadable.

Like brickhardmeat posted, 195/50/16's or 205/45/16's may have been the better application here for a lowered car.
