2017 Yaris L. Best options for buying new tires this fall?

Hello.

I haven't bought tires in many years. What do you recommend? Buying online and having a shop install them? Dealer? Something else?

Thanks.

I normally buy online then ship to an installer. Tires are generally pretty cheap in our size.

If you really want to get the best deal I'd call different tire shops and compare to total price for ordering online and having installed. Unless the shops are having a sale I've found it's always cheaper to buy online.

Thanks. What might be an "average" price to have a decent set of four all-season tires installed (assuming you buy them online)?

The last few times I spent a total of around 275-300 dollars for 4 tires shipped and installed.

Thanks. Do you know if it's recommended to always get an alignment after four new tires are installed? I've found a lot of mixed info online.

I'd say look at your old tires and if they're wearing properly and evenly then you probably don't need an alignment. Of course it never hurts to get one done, but it could be throwing away money.

I usually buy online at discounttiredirect.com. If you wait for a sale, you'll find some excellent prices. I'm guessing there will be a labour day sale around the corner.

A local shop installs and balances for just $10 each. Perhaps you can find that kind of deal in your area.

Just make sure you buy some proper tires and not some cheap ”LingLong” crap if you want to actually stay on the road in the wet... ;) Good tires are after all the best, and cheapest, performance upgrade there is!

I am using the General Altimax RT43 all-season tire with tire size of 175 / 65R15. You can consider this tire, which offers a smooth, smooth ride and long treadlife, as this article mentioned https://tireer.com/best-quiet-tires/

It's funny you mention this. These are the exact tires I bought.
