True. I guess many of them subscribe to the same philosophy when it comes to the drain plug. Lol.

Got the oil filter changed at the Sunoco station this morning $10.

I’ll find out tomorrow morning when I start the engine if the rattle goes away.

Now All I have to do is figure out how to get the dipstick out to check the oil level. I’m thinking a stool I can standdown will work.

Nice. I hope it cures the noise. Good luck.

The new oil filter didn’t stop the coldstart rattle, but it seems less. Further research indicates some Engines do this since new. That’s what I’m going with for now!

Now I’m going to concentrate on getting the bed cover removed or at least tied up at the front of the bed.

Drove the truck this morning and there was no coldstart rattle at all! I’ll be driving down to my daughters house 50 miles down I-95 for Thanksgiving. Hopefully that will reset the computer that was re-programmed to put the ABS module in.f

The blue driver indicates the truck passes the smog Test after driving the 50 miles down I 95 and back. So all the tests have now been run in the truck will pass inspection.

Mmmmm, base model regular cabs are the best trucks.

Not a fan of white on a pickup but it looks like a nice honest workhorse.

I keep thinking Marvel Mystery Oil to temporarily solve high mileage noisy engine problems.

Not this time. It’s a hydraulic cam tensioner that bleeds out overnight and the chain rattles until it pumps up in the morning.

$1700 to fix it it according to Ford.

People say on YouTube it’ll do it for 100,000 miles. That’s what I’m going to believe!

Let that be a lesson to you. By Toyota!

The F1 50 update.

I’m waiting to get the registration title and plates from the used car dealer I bought the truck from. It’s been a month and a temporary registration runs out Saturday. I called the salesman he said it might take 60 days but with the way Cove it has affected the DMV.

In the meantime I’m trying to figure out how I will check the oil. I can’t reach the dipstick no way. I tried buying an 11 inch high folding stool from Amazon to stand on but that didn’t work. I guess I’ll have to have them check the oil at the gas station.

I am ready to put the plates on when they come. I bought an electric screwdriver from Harbor freight which works great. With the Parkinson’s I don’t have enough dexterity in my hands to use a screwdriver to attach the plates.

It seems like a nice truck you have there. My brother acquired a Ford
F-350 last year, and he's planning to use it to haul his ATV. He bought it pre-owned and has been working on its modification for the past months. The last time I saw it, he's installing dually wheels to it before the holidays.

F 150 update

I bought the truck November 13 and still don’t have the title registration and plates. The dealer I bought the truck from handled all that.

DMV New Jersey seriously affected by the coronavirus!

Wow adding Dooley wheel Quite a modification!

I took the F1 50 in to get two new front tires and the coolant changed. When they change the coolant they found it look like someone had put stop leak in it. They flushed it all out twice and now I wonder if it will leak.

We shall see!

Ouch. Stop Leak is never a good sign.

Got the truck back this morning. It seems fine and the heater works much faster now. Hopefully the stop leak wasn’t washed out of whatever it was ceiling. Talk to text ceiling!

The new tires are beautiful!

Drove the truck this morning on the highway for the first time. The new tires make it go straight down the road, the old worn out ones cause the truck to wander from side to side.

The plates, title, and registration finally came from New Jersey DMV for the truck. I purchased it November 13 so the DMV took nearly 4 months!
