Gettin' Blitz'ed and have a question...

Curious if the standard injectors are sufficient with the Blitz S/C (and Blitz management)? I have a set of 1ZZ injectors and am wondering if I should swap them while I'm already up to my elbows. Thanks in advance for the reply.

My opinion is that 1NZ injectors are totally sufficient.

I was running lean with 1NZ injectors, but I have an AFe intake. The Blitz is designed to be fine if you have the factory airbox, but if you've got an aftermarket intake then go with the 1ZZ.

I've had an AFR gauge installed for a year now just waiting for the chance to get boosted. I'll probably swap the injectors out and wait for the CEL. I have a CAI (custom) and a full 2.5" exhaust (custom as well) so I expect with that kind of flow I should be ok with the 1ZZs. I'll update so others will have a reference point.

Good to know. I'm starting with the stock airbox and exhaust, but with a K&N drop-in filter. CAI and exhaust are in the near future, so I'll have to figure in the cost of injectors too.

Hope ya don't mind a Scion Xb owner jumping in, but on a somewhat related issue, will the stock fuel rail be adequate or is an upgrade recommended.

Stock fuel rail is fine unless you want some extra bling.

Thanks for the swift reply. It's gonna be pretty much hidden by the blower case anyway. Just picked up a used Blitz Tuesday and must say you Yaris guys have it together with a whole sub-forum devoted to forced induction!

The Blitz is gonna put me in the unusual position of actually looking forward to my next smog inspection so I'll have another two years to play around. Comes due next February. Hope I can avoid the temptation to start the install now and get it really dialed in just in time to pull it all off for the the inspection.

I put 1zz injectors in mine....the fuel rail has to be loosened/taken off anyways. Then if you upgrade I/h/e like I had on mine, you'll want the extra fuel so you don't run lean

The fuel pump is more than adequate for up to about 12psi of boost. If anything one would ideally like to upgrade the pressure regulator to compensate for the increased plenum pressure from the boost. I did an experiment with crimping the OEM regulator to increase its cut-off by 6 psi to match the max boost of the Blitz. Ideally one would want the pressure increase to be a 1:1 ratio with the boost, but the crimp method is an easy fix, which doesn't require the significant mods to the fuel system that an adjustable regulator would.

There is some thread where I discussed it, but I have no idea what or where it is. You simply take the regulator, stick a socket over the top end (to protect it), and put the whole thing in a vise. You gently squeeze the bottom end (against the socket on the top) to increase the crimp and hence tighten the spring. You really need a rig to test it with though to verify the adjustment.
