What 1.3L engine? The brand new one, or the 2NZ-FE?

i have 2010 yaris sedan, also i saw one short ram intake for mazda 626, the shop said it would fit the yaris sedan, we tried to test fit it, but i'm afraid it would create problems, there are no upgrades for yaris sedan here at saudi arabia,

If you can keep that flexible tube and the part into which the MAF screws in, you could use pretty much any aftermarket filter...

@etimago, do you mean that i can just attach any aftermarket filter? provided that the part for the maf and the other small tube remains intact?

it would not create any problems?

i'll check it now if it can be done....

thanks

Actually... my bad, I forgot that the MAF holder is part of the original intake box... scratch that, then :(

If you cannot locate a CAI for your 1.3 you install a K&N drop-in filter after swiss-cheesing the bottom of the airbox. The effect should be similar, just not as sexy.

i will try first on a used oem airbox, i'll try to remove or mold it to make look like a CAI or short ram then plug an aftermarket filter, would it have the same effect?
