Yaris California Emissions

how far below is a typical Yaris form CA emissions/inspections? I bought mine because I liked that it had "50 State Emissions" or whatever; and I'm planning to relocate to CA (just need to find a job after my cross-country trip :-)

But I was curious as to how well the Yaris does in this strict emissions control environment of California!

thanks. I'm a senior software engineer; doesn't seem to be such a hot area right now no matter which part of the country I go!

With a yaris you should pretty much never fail smog. its super low emissions from its tiny motor. On top of it its got 2 cats too.

ULEV II Vehicle. Smog laws depends on Zipcode for biannual checks. If it's stock we'll be fine.

If it is 50 state legal it is not a problem. Even if it is not 50 state legal you just have to have 7500 miles on it or it needs to be a year old or more.

I haven't had to smog my 07 yet, but did so on my former car, an 03 Echo...absolutely no problems. Passed very easily.
