SCION XB BRAKE UPGRADE
The other day a free set of 2012 Xb front calipers came into my hands,my friend who had a Scion Xd always wanted a cheap front brake upgrade and so I was wondering if it would work.Turns out scion xb,Scion xd ,corolla,rav4 ,matrix and yaris all have all the same bolt pattern for the calipers ,so any one of the vehicles are interchangeable but the problem was the rotor because the center bore of the rotors are different. So after hours of research I found that the scion xb rotor will not work because it has a center hub size of 62 mm but a 1992 celica gts rotor had possibilities because it has similar dimensions to the scion xb rotor, just 1.8 mm bigger diameter and center hub diameter was 54.04 mm and the wheel bolt pattern was 5 x 100 . This center bore was so close to the xd (55mm) but smaller by a bout 1 mm. So i decided to experiment , bought a set of 92 Celica rotors and decided to carefully shave the 1mm off the center bore.Fits on the car no issues no rubbing ,brakes stops really well however i will probably buy another set and get them professionally machined.
SCION XD ROTOR THICKNESS 22MM DIAMETER 275MM CALIPER PISTON DIAMETER 60MM SCION XB ROTOR THICKNESS 25MM DIAMETER 275MM CALIPER PISTON DIAMETER 63MM 92 CELICA GTS ROTOR THICKNESS 25MM DIAMETER 276.8MM ALSO LOOKING FOR AWAY TO FIT V6 RAV4 BRAKES,THEIR IS A ROTOR IN EUROPE THAT MAY WORK.I WILL TRY AND FIND OUT IF IT WORKS,ON PAPER EVERYTHING LOOKS GOOD BUT COST OF ROTORS ARE VERY EXPENSIVE. You can enter the dimensions of the rotors you are looking for here: Brake search
It will pull up their part numbers, but it isn't hard to cross reference them via google. It may help your search.
