.032 to .029.

I would go as low as .022

I'm not sure I'm going to mess with the gap anymore because I'm 90% sure it has to do with the FIC itself just because when the FIC is bypassed the car doesn't misfire at all. So I figured as long as the car is getting the signal to spark, it does and doesn't have a problem igniting the mixture without the FIC.

I hear ya. And you're probably right. I was just suggesting what gap I set mine. My crx had issues with loosing power at full boost. Is wasn't at bad when I went .033 and eliminated the issue completely at .022.

I am not saying this is the problem with your car. I am just adding my experience and what I set my gap when I was boosted.

I'm almost positive it has something to do with the ECU fighting the FIC or something like that but I have very limited knowledge on how the FIC works and how the ECU responds. I just don't see it being an existing issue with my car since the car runs smooth and fine even at idle when the FIC is bypassed.
you mentioned a gas smell. make sure the injector cushions are seated properly or you will have misfire. Do you have a lightweight flywheel? that will cause false misfire codes.

@blown_xa, I do have a lightweight flywheel but you can hear and feel when it misfires so I don't think its a false code unless it's just idling rough for some other reason and the misfire code is just a coincidence

@ilikerice, no I get ya, that's why I did try closing the gap a bit but it just seems more like the problem is from another area. I also don't have any problems with misfiring when I'm giving it gas or hitting boost, it's only when I let go of the gas and idle or put it in neutral that you hear and feel it misfiring.

Try zero's yet in the lower RPM range yet? Sounds like its too rich at idle

Haven't gotten to a PC yet but that is definitely one of my first things I'll try then I'll try all the different firmwares.

My brother is helping me put together a junk PC tower tonight with a bunch of his random spare parts to use. I'll post with the results of the change as soon as I get that all done.

I finally got an old laptop to use to change my cal file on my FIC. So when I go to modify the fuel map on the cal file, what boxes should I make 0 for the lower rpms? I'm completely unfamiliar with how this works.

The car runs fines with a completely zero'ed out map (the base cal file) so I just need to know how exactly the FIC picks what boxes at idle. I see the rpms across the top but on the left it says psi so I'm not sure what to change.

Update: Put in zeros for the boxes the FIC uses for idle and it helped a little it seemed with the roughness but it still stalls out at idle.
